Our friend, Kimi, just got home from Saudi Arabia. We missed our barkada bonding and outings, so aside from our usual parties and trips, we planned for another adventure--- the Island hopping from Panglao to Balicasag to Puntod Island in Bohol!
One of the best and most memorable experiences during the trip was the dolphin watching!
Balicasag Island is one of the common sites for dolphins and whale watching. It hosts a portion of the sea that is inhabited by certain species of dolphins and whales. Whales are rare but dolphins usually show up early mornings between 5-7am and the best time to go is during summer- March to May.
From Tagbilaran City, we had to wake up as early as 4am to get to the jump-off point-- the Alona Kew Beach Resort in Panglao Island. From there, we rented a pump boat for only P1,700 good for 9 persons.

Although I have seen variety of dolphin shows, this one was definitely unique and full of excitement! It's like you are on your way haunting for dolphins! It's not the typical ones you see on carnivals nor even that from Ocean Park Hongkong where trainers feed the dolphins so they will obey their signals.
This one was certainly different! You're simply riding on a pump boat on the open sea with no trainers, no professional lifeguards! Just plainly waiting for dolphins to show up, swim right next to your boat and witness their actual jumps and dives!
Man, it was incredibly fun!
I had to stand up and balance myself to get clearer pictures of the dolphins. And we can't help but scream with excitement and pleasure every time dolphins show up with their best acrobats as free creatures! Other tourists from separate boats joined us too. You will surely love it really!

Bohol is indeed teemed with marine life. So if you love diving, swimming, or just sailing for a dolphin and whale watching, a treat indeed awaits for you in Bohol! It's definitely one island paradise where you can enjoy to the highest level!
